The project

The European MindRACES project, funded under the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) of the European Union, comes to a conclusion. The research focuses on anticipatory embodied cognitive systems — agents capable of predicting the consequences of their own actions and adapting behaviour based on the anticipations they generate.

The consortium

The project involves ISTC-CNR in Rome (Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies) and five European research centres. noze participates as an industrial partner, contributing to the technological development and validation of cognitive architectures.

The results

The research activities produce significant results:

  • The A.K.I.R.A. framework, a schema-based cognitive architecture for anticipatory agents
  • Scientific publications on anticipation, cognitive maps and schema-based reasoning
  • Advances in understanding anticipation and prediction mechanisms in artificial systems

The legacy

MindRACES represents a foundational experience for noze in European artificial intelligence research. The expertise gained — from cognitive modelling to the design of anticipatory systems — feeds into the company’s technological heritage and powers subsequent research lines in pattern recognition, machine learning and predictive analytics.
