RIPEG: mobile environmental monitoring selected for Expo Shanghai

The RIPEG project for real-time ultrafine particulate monitoring on mobile vehicles is selected for 'Italy of Innovators' at Expo Shanghai.

The project

RI.P.E.G. is a portable system for the real-time monitoring of ultrafine particulate, ozone, CO and NOx in urban areas, installed on mobile vehicles. The project is developed by Alitec, noze and SICE Telecomunicazioni, with funding from the POR FESR Tuscany Region programme.

noze’s contribution

noze builds the entire control panel of the system, consisting of:

  • RIPEG Server: server infrastructure for collecting and processing environmental data
  • RIPEG Manager: management and configuration interface for the system
  • Status Viewport: real-time visualisation panel based on HTML5 and Google Maps, for geolocated measurement monitoring
  • GeoBI/OpenDataBI: geospatial Business Intelligence and Open Data tools for advanced environmental data analysis

The technology stack includes HTML5, AJAX, Python, PHP, PostgreSQL and SpagoBI.

Expo Shanghai

RIPEG is selected for the “Italy of Innovators” showcase at Expo Shanghai, an international exhibition presenting Italy’s best innovations. The recognition rewards the project’s ability to combine environmental sensors, mobility and data analytics in an integrated solution for urban air quality monitoring.
