Internet Governance Forum Italy 2009

Stefano Noferi, CTO of noze, takes part in the session “Internet and technologies of the future” of the Internet Governance Forum with the talk “Dematerialised dematerialisation”.

The talk will take place on Wednesday 7 October 2009 from 8:30 am to 11:00 am in Hall 1 of the Auditorium of the CNR Research Area Conference Centre.

The Internet Governance Forum Italy 2009 is articulated over 3 days, from 5 to 7 October, from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm at the Auditorium of the CNR Research Area Conference Centre - Via G. Moruzzi, 1 - Pisa.

In agreement with the Committee of IGF Italy promoters, the event — following the meeting held last year in Cagliari — is organised by the Institute of Informatics and Telematics (IIT) of CNR and will be held at the CNR Research Area in Pisa. The initiative corresponds to a collective commitment by the IIT Institute, aimed at facilitating the participation and intervention of the representatives of the national Italian Internet community. The Forum represents one of the most important occasions for the entire Italian Internet community to meet and responds to the European Parliament’s invitation to promote national initiatives similar to global appointments. The results of the Pisa works will be presented at the next meeting of the UN IGF to be held in Sharm El Sheikh in November 2009, hosted by the Egyptian government.

The three days of work, curated by an interdisciplinary Programme Committee, will be dedicated to the most topical and relevant issues of the Italian Internet.

Among the topics addressed, some highly topical issues: freedom of expression, security, anonymity online, copyright, users’ rights and duties, and social networks. Invited to the Forum are, among others, Ministers Mariastella Gelmini, Renato Brunetta and Giulio Tremonti, Deputy Minister Paolo Romani, and some of the parliamentarians most active on these topics, including Antonio Palmieri, Luigi Vimercati and Vincenzo Vita.

The event will be broadcast live via video. To attend the event, registration is required.
