Rancher 1.x (2014) nasce come container management con Docker (Cattle orchestrator proprio). Rancher 2.0 è una riscrittura completa Kubernetes-first, rilasciata il 1° maggio 2018. Licenza Apache 2.0. Lead: Sheng Liang (CEO), Darren Shepherd (CTO). Scritto in Go.
