The recognition
The website radiomontecarlo.net, designed and developed by noze, wins the “Arts, Culture and Entertainment” category at the WWW Award from Il Sole 24 Ore. The award, established in 1998, is Italy’s leading recognition for the best websites and represents a benchmark for digital presence quality in the national landscape.
The website
RadioMonteCarlo.net is an entertainment portal built entirely on an Open Source stack — Zope, Python, InFlow CMS — and developed ad hoc by noze. The site manages editorial content, schedules, audio streaming, listener interaction and community sections. The design and information architecture are crafted for a discerning audience, in line with the Radio Monte Carlo brand positioning.
The significance
The award represents an important validation on multiple levels. It demonstrates that a website built on Open Source technologies can compete — and win — against sites built with proprietary platforms and significantly larger budgets. For noze, it is recognition of the quality of work done across the entire Radio 105 group project, from the technology platform to the user experience design.
In a web market still dominated by proprietary solutions, this result helps legitimize the Open Source approach as a competitive choice for high-visibility projects. ]
