The founding
T-OSSLab — Tuscany Open Source Software Laboratory — is established as a Tuscan regional competence centre dedicated to Open Source software. noze is among the promoters of the initiative.
The mission
T-OSSLab is created to serve as a reference point for the Open Source ecosystem in Tuscany, bringing together expertise distributed across companies, universities and research centres. The competence centre aims to:
- Promote the adoption of Open Source software in Tuscan public administration and enterprises
- Support the development of professional skills in the free software sector
- Facilitate collaboration among the different players in the regional ecosystem
- Represent the Tuscan Open Source community in institutional and policy settings
The role of noze
The co-founding of T-OSSLab is part of noze’s trajectory as a leading player in Italian Open Source. After the presidency of CIRS (Italy’s first national consortium of FLOSS companies) and participation in numerous European and national projects based on open technologies, promoting a regional competence centre represents a further commitment to ecosystem growth. noze brings to T-OSSLab the experience gained on platforms such as Plone, Alfresco and the entire Linux stack, contributing to building a shared skill base across the territory.
